Let’s Get The Party Started!
Seven years ago we were honored to host the 2007 overnight stay for RAGBRAI® and I volunteered to sell tickets at Riverwalk Park for all the entertainment and activities. I was lucky enough to meet and visit with riders and support people from all over the world.
Now, in 2014, I am the new Mayor of this great community and will be able to be more involved in the planning and participate more in the day’s events. I am working with a large group of excited volunteers made up of business leaders, elected officials, educators, safety and health professionals, and citizens of all ages. Several of our volunteers have ridden the RAGBRAI route and will bring those experiences to help make sure we meet your needs. You will find many talented, creative, and friendly people looking forward to the opportunity to showcase our community again.
We will be “Glowing on the River” as we bring you refreshing drinks, good food, great entertainment, a place to rest your tired body, and lots of smiles and laughter. “Our Nation’s Fame is in Our Name” and you can count on us to do whatever possible to show you our down home hospitality. Our goal is to make your experience in Independence so much fun that you will want to come back again and again. Ride safe and we will see you on July 25th!
